My Heart Skipped A Beat

 11 weeks, 2 days.

First 3D image!
Due to my being of "advanced maternal age" (basically over age 35. I was 37.), it was highly recommended that a nuchal fold translucency scan be done. The test looks for early indications of genetic anomalies such as Downs Syndrome. Ours was very good. The nuchal fold translucency was between 0.8-1mm and the nasal bone was strongly visible. We heard the baby's heartbeat (176bpm) for the first time that day, May 13, 2010 (11 weeks, 2 days). It was so unexpected that James and I physically reacted and I cried. We were also able to see the baby in 3D!
