After a lovely day of sun, blue skies, and very mild weather for the first week of November yesterday, the Hudsons (us!) pretty much stuck very close to home today. With the exception of a very quick trip to Costco, James and I spent the day with Brennan. It was lots of fun being able to spend the whole day as a family. It was something that, I think, all of us needed.
Brennan was full of energy and proceeded to keep us on our toes all day long. She was awake at just after 7am and didn't go down for any kind of nap until 2:30pm! Apparently, she had been planning her next big "thing". First off, Brennan stood up all by herself in her crib. It was the first time that she figured out how to get up on her own. What a surprise! Next up on Little B's agenda was a doozie! Brennan has a cute little car that she can either ride or push. Today, she put both hands on the push bar and walked across the room on her own. She walked back and forth between James and I several times without assistance. Amazing! I have to admit when she first did it that I cried. My little girl who has needed me so much is becoming more and more independent every single day.
Just in the past two weeks alone, the number of Brennan's developmental accomplishments has gone off the charts in every area: language, communication, cognitive, and motor skills. It has been nearly overwhelming for me to keep up with! However, I have begun writing her "new" things on the calendar just to have a better handle on what she did when!
I can't wait to see what tomorrow holds!
